What is a Landing Page

and How Can It Help My Business?

I never even knew there was such a thing as a Landing Page …  until I won one!

Let me tell you how this happened.  Once a week I participate in Facebook Monday. That’s when I post pictures and tell tall tales on facebook. I am joined by about 100 other business people from around the world, each of us with a story, an inspiration, a product or feature. I “like” and “share” and participate, the goal of which is to entice others to do the same, thereby getting the information of our businesses out to as many people as possible.

Last week I entered a contest. No, I never ever win contests. But I won this one!

landing page!

I had no idea who Dru Weems is, let alone what I had won, but there I was with people congratulating me all over facebook! What is a girl to do?

I contacted Dru and asked her what I had won.

Here’s her website.

and here’s her facebook page .

Dru Weems with Social Media & Drubees Mobile Marketing told me that I had won a Facebook Landing page or a Capture Page along with  a FB Cover Banner.  She mentioned that these pages are great for capturing sales and leads and gathering all your website links all on one page.  She also mentioned that the customized pages or (apps) that are created can also be mobile optimized so that your potential clients can not only view these landing pages on mobile, but on all social media sites, desk top, lap top, iPad and website.  She said most people are on Facebook for business and this is a quick and easy way for your clients to click the links that are created on the landing page and view all your products and services with ease.  You call it one stop shopping.

Since I already have a great cover on our page

I really didn’t want her to redesign it. We use this picture on all of  our enclosure cards and business promotions. It works for all seasons and it’s a beautiful example of the work we do for our customers. (Thank you Norma Doiron for your help and inspiration in the creation of this beautiful cover!)

So, I had to ask, what else? She told me I had won a Landing Page. What is a Landing Page? Well, in our case, it’s a facebook page that’s separate from our home page, and she suggested it be a page where people could actually purchase our products directly from facebook!

Why hadn’t I thought of that before? Gee, I don’t know…but that’s why there are people like Dru Weems…who can take our facebook page to the next level!

I gave her carte blanche and she decided to design a Landing Page for autumn. I think she thought we’d like to extend our autumn season a little longer than it really is!!

So, here it is! DRUM ROLL, PLEASE!

Our new Landing Page!

Please click and let us know what you think of it!

Happy Autumn, everyone!

  1. Looks very Autumn like. Ironically, we created a landing page to market to a specific audience, Cost a bundle cause we didnt know how to do it and we didnt get sales from it. What I learned from that experience is that every action in sm marketing needs a funnel. A pretty image gets gets attention. Great explanation about a landing page.

    • Oh, Roslyn, that’s very interesting. We hope this Landing Page will appeal to a great Facebook audience. We know Dru did a great job for us and we’ll see how it goes!!

  2. Hello,

  4. Loved hearing the back story and how happy you are that you not only won the contest, but also that it takes your business to a new level too. Hope it drives new sales directly to you and your amazing arrangements and baskets, Tina.

    • Thanks so much, Beverley. Winning the contest was the first step to the discovery of a Landing Page, and I can tell, like me, a lot of people have no idea what it is or what it can do for your business!

  5. I really need to learn to do this better. Landing pages can be very effective when done correctly.

    • Yes, Lesley, the Landing Page might be just perfect for you! Contact Dru for help…she’s wonderful!

    • Ines, Dru did a great job for me! I would recommend her highly. I hope you think about the landing page and that it works for you.

  8. Tina – the new page looks awesome! Landing pages are fabulous and so very helpful. Being able to purchase directly on Facebook is going to be a great thing!

    • Thanks, Takara. We love the new Landing Page! So far no one has taken the “bite” to order on facebook and I hope the landing page will change that.

  9. Landing Page is very eye catching and pretty! Congrats on your win and best wishes for future success!

  10. That’s great, Tina! There is so much to learn and you’re going in the right direction! Looking forward to hearing more about it as you grow your business!

    • Thanks so much, Alexandra. Who’d’thunk we’d need to start learning all of these things after almost 37 years in business!

  11. Isn’t it amazing how many options and opportunities there are for building business and getting the word out? It’s enough to boggle the mind. Congrats on your win!

    • Thanks so much! I never win anything, so it was really a great experience! And Dru was a delight to work with!

  12. Congrats on your win! I did not realize there was such a thing as a FB Landing Page! Wow! What a great idea! Yours is great. Dru did a wonderful job putting it together. By the way, I was noticing the map and you are right across from a hospital… that seems like it would be a great location for a flower/gift shop.

    • Thanks Pat. Yes, Dru did a great job on the Landing Page. We’ve been across the street from the hospital for almost 37 years. It’s good because people expect to find a flower shop near a hospital, but the hospital itself doesn’t bring a lot of business any more because hospital stays are so short. But we’re happy in our old-fashioned location in a very old, established neighborhood. Thanks for noticing!

  13. I never heard of this! Great job using your resources to your benefit it’s always nice to win stuff here and there 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

    • I had never heard of a Landing Page, either. I’m still waiting to see if it works for our business. If it does, I promise to let you know!

  14. Landing pages are so important whether on Facebook or used to drive traffic to on websites and blogs. So delighted that you now have a great one. Thanks for the post.

    • Thanks, Takara. I’m just learning about the Landing Page and the value of having one.

  15. I love landing pages but they aren’t as easy to use as they were prior on facebook. It is among the many changes they have made over the years.

    • Really, Sharon? What’s the difference now? I’m asking because I’m trying to decide whether or not to keep the Landing Page. Thanks.
