It’s Boss’s Day!
Did you know Friday is National Boss’s Day?
I’ve always wondered EXACTLY what does that mean? After all, your boss is your boss is your boss…and why have a day to honor him or her?
Well, I finally figured it out! Actually, I had some help the other day, when I was talking to a lady who was really complaining about her job. She thought it was meaningless and of no value (of course it was of value to me because I was the customer and without her I wouldn’t have been able to make my purchase). She was very unhappy, but she said these words to me:
AT LEAST IT’S A JOB!
That made me realize not only how valuable our jobs are, but now important it is to remember our bosses once in a while! After all, if we didn’t have bosses, then we wouldn’t have jobs, right?
That’s why October 16th is set aside to remember your boss.
So, how do you do that? I can think of a few ways…
Send flowers!
Here’s what we call “3 To Go”, which is a selection of 3 terrific floral arrangements that are prefect for Boss’s Day. You chose the one you’d like to send and we’ll design and deliver it for you!
Send an easy-care green plant!
Pamela, who has been known as the Plant Doctor since her days at Michigan State University (where she obtained her degree in Floriculture) brings in the most beautiful green plants! They really like her, and they grow and get stronger as soon as they come into the flower shop! When she sells one, she often has a difficult decision deciding which one to part with, as if each one were her friend! Here are some examples of green plants that we often carry and that yes, she will begrudgingly part with!
All decorated up for fall, this is an Arrowhead plant. Pretty, isn’t it?
This is a Pothos plant, which grows easily in the desert and your boss will find it loves to sit on a bookcase or filing cabinet!
This is a fall planter, decorated with a scarecrow for the season! It’s a mix of plants that Pamela chooses, and it’s all dressed up and ready to say THANKS!
Send goodies!
What about sharing the goodies? Gee, that’s a great idea! You can send a goodie basket to your boss and hope that they’ll share it with you!! Here’s fresh fruit and snacks,
Or consider and extra special fresh fruit gift basket!
In fairness, we need to think about ourselves, too. Maybe you’re the boss! Maybe you’re in need of some extra-special attention. Whatever the reason, we can help you shine!
We’re Pamela and Tina of Roadrunner Florist & Basket Express in Phoenix, AZ. We look forward to hearing from you!
I don’t have a boss anymore, but my husband does and there is nothing wrong with sending a little gift, right? Everyone likes to be recognized.
I think so, too, Robin. A little token of recognition goes a long, long way.
I think doing a good job is enough. I’m not big on buying gifts for people who make more money than I do. But, good suggestions, though.
It can be intimidating (and difficult) to buy a gift for someone who makes more money than you do. I do gift baskets for multi-millionaires…what do they need? It’s truly the thought that count.
Such pretty flowers. My mom loves flowers and her birthday is this Saturday.
Happy Birthday to you mom! Find a local florist and order directly from them so neither of you will be disappointed.
Oh this is a great idea, I didn’t know there was a bosses day, but it makes sense to have one.
Boss’s Day has been around a long time. I’m glad I was able to tell you about this fun “holiday” to remember someone who is with you day by day.
What a great idea. My boss was really love goodies. I will bring goodies for him tomorrow.
Terrific idea, Victoria! I know he’s going to love the goodies!
Great suggestions.
Thanks, Chanelle! Don’t forget..Boss’s Day is the end of the week!
Lovely floral arrangement and I like the ideas of sending goodies. A warm feeling knowing if I was a boss receive such elegant gift.
Yes, I think a boss gets excited to receive something like goodies from the employees. And maybe, just maybe, he’ll even share!
It’s nice to recognize your boss once in a while. They look after our jobs after all. Awesome ideas!
Thanks so much. Once a year we honor or boss. It’s not such a bad idea after all!
It seems like I have spent most of my existence in the corporate world, however, I have had only a few bosses worth accolades. If I knew where they are now, I would definitely gift them with something on October 16th.
That is really nice! I wonder if you could facebook or google them and then tell them Thanks!
I agree that bosses should be honored, especially ones that aren’t terrible.
I’ll bet you have had some terrible bosses, haven’t you? Yes, I have, too! It’s nice to remember the ones that are nice.
Bosses day is an important day as it shows reciprocal respect!
I think so, too,Dana!! Boss’s Day is a great opportunity to say Thanks!
I have a great boss at my full time job…maybe this year I will do something. Thanks for the reminder. 🙂
You’re welcome!! Boss’s Day is always October 16th so you have a few days to find the perfect gift!
Nothing better than a Boss want you to succeed – show the love back is a pretty good idea.
You are so right! Showing the love back to the boss is a great idea!
That would definitely be a thoughtful gesture indeed! I think the bouquet options are very pretty.
Thanks, Liz. We appreciate the compliment.
Well I had no idea it was boss’ day
It’s always on October 16th. The orders are flying in! I’m excited to design and deliver all of these gift baskets!
The flower arrangements are beautiful, and so are the gift baskets.
Thanks! Remember us when you need to send flowers or a gift basket!
These are great tips. I didn’t know that there was a National Boss Day. I will tell my husband about this.
Great!! Then he should make sure his boss receives something nice!
I would totally do that if I had a boss.
And your boss would totally appreciate it!
I don’t know any boss who wouldn’t love to get one of these on Boss’s day! Wonderful gift ideas!
Thanks so much, Shannon. We had the privilege to design and deliver a lot of arrangements and gift baskets for Boss’s Day this year.
