It’s Boss’s Day!

Did you know Friday is National Boss’s Day?

I’ve always wondered EXACTLY what does that mean? After all, your boss is your boss is your boss…and why have a day to honor him or her?

Well, I finally figured it out! Actually, I had some help the other day, when I was talking to a lady who was really complaining about her job. She thought it was meaningless and of no value (of course it was of value to me because I was the customer and without her I wouldn’t have been able to make my purchase). She was very unhappy, but she said these words to me:

AT LEAST IT’S A JOB!

That made me realize not only how valuable our jobs are, but now important it is to remember our bosses once in a while! After all, if we didn’t have bosses, then we wouldn’t have jobs, right?

That’s why October 16th is set aside to remember your boss.

So, how do you do that? I can think of a few ways…

Send flowers!

Here’s what we call “3 To Go”, which is a selection of 3 terrific floral arrangements that are prefect for Boss’s Day. You chose the one you’d like to send and we’ll design and deliver it for you!

3 Go To Flower Arrangements

Send an easy-care green plant!

Pamela, who has been known as the Plant Doctor since her days at Michigan State University (where she obtained her degree in Floriculture) brings in the most beautiful green plants! They really like her, and they grow and get stronger as soon as they come into the flower shop! When she sells one, she often has a difficult decision deciding which one to part with, as if each one were her friend! Here are some examples of green plants that we often carry and that yes, she will begrudgingly part with!

All decorated up for fall, this is an Arrowhead plant. Pretty, isn’t it?

This is a Pothos plant, which grows easily in the desert and your boss will find it loves to sit on a bookcase or filing cabinet!

This is a fall planter, decorated with a scarecrow for the season! It’s a mix of plants that Pamela chooses, and it’s all dressed up and ready to say THANKS!

Send goodies!

What about sharing the goodies? Gee, that’s a great idea! You can send a goodie basket to your boss and hope that they’ll share it with you!!  Here’s fresh fruit and snacks,

Or consider and extra special fresh fruit gift basket!

Really nice fresh fruit

In fairness, we need to think about ourselves, too. Maybe you’re the boss! Maybe you’re in need of some extra-special attention. Whatever the reason, we can help you shine!

  1. I don’t have a boss anymore, but my husband does and there is nothing wrong with sending a little gift, right? Everyone likes to be recognized.

    • I think so, too, Robin. A little token of recognition goes a long, long way.

  2. I think doing a good job is enough. I’m not big on buying gifts for people who make more money than I do. But, good suggestions, though.

    • It can be intimidating (and difficult) to buy a gift for someone who makes more money than you do. I do gift baskets for multi-millionaires…what do they need? It’s truly the thought that count.
