People…People who need people… (one of my favorite of all songs) are the luckiest people in the world! Are you singing with me now? Can’t you hear Barbra Streisand in your mind’s ear? I sure can!
We are so fortunate that we get to meet real people, our customers who come into our shop and choose flowers from our coolers or ask us to custom design an arrangement for them.
Sometimes we have spoken on the phone several times and they finally have a change to stop by. Sometimes they’re driving across town and see our marquee. Sometimes they’re visiting one of the hospitals in the neighborhood and are looking for a real local flower shop. And sometimes they are yelping and find us on the Internet!
We love being able to take their pictures and then post them on our Facebook page! And we love posting them here for you to see!
One of the most interesting people we have met recently works on the new buildings being constructed by ASU in Downtown Phoenix. He is installing the air conditioning systems, and he didn’t mind telling us that without him, we would be very hot indeed! He and his wife stopped by for flowers to take to an ailing friend in the hospital.
Meet Lisa. She used Yelp to find us today! Â She stopped by to take flowers to her new boss!
We’d like you to meet Shane. He and his wife were celebrating their wedding anniversary! When a dozen roses aren’t enough, then choose 2 dozen!
This is Pat. She stopped by to pick up flowers to take to her mother-in-law for her birthday!
Stephanie brought her mom in to meet us. Stephanie is one of our favorite ladies, who is a great restaurant manager (now at the Sizzler on 51st Ave and Indian School) Her mom came in for her daughter’s graduation (another great reason to order flowers!) and we were so excited to meet her!
This is Nykita. Her grandmother loves yellow! In celebration of her 89th birthday, Nykita stopped by to pick up these beautiful flowers!
Meet Isaac and Alex. They stopped by from Russia! OK, not exactly, they were in New York and stopped by! Well, not really! They’re from Russia, were visiting friends in New York, then traveled to Phoenix and were looking for a florist near one of the neighborhood care facilities. Isaac and Alex found us on Yelp! Those great Yelpers… we love’em!
A baby shower is a happy occasion to enjoy flowers. This future grandmother knew the colors of the baby’s room, and she knew the theme for the shower would be birdhouses. Here she is, beaming with pride, as she and her daughter picked up the centerpieces Pamela designed for the baby shower!
  
This is our youngest customer ever. I didn’t get her name, but she and her mom recently stopped by to pick up flowers for their new home. This little girl is being raised right: she already knows how much fun it is to have flowers at home!

I wish you were near, too, because we’d love to meet you!! We know the joys of our customers, as well as their trials and tribulations. We share in their moments, from babies to anniversaries, from illness to death, from new homes to new jobs, from love and support to guys who are “in the dog house!” Each person has a story to tell, and we love hearing them (our favorites are from veterans). Thanks so much for recognizing the importance of dealing with real people who offer exemplary service to our customers.

Thanks, Jessica, for seeing the advantage of using (and being) a real flower shop. We develop a personal relationship with our customers. We know their parents and children, and we share in their happy occasions and their losses. An on-line-order-pretender (that would be a 800 number or .com) can’t provide that kind of experience.

Thanks, Amy. We are happy to say we’ve had thousands of happy customers over the 38 years we’ve been here! Being a real, local flower shop means you can actually talk to a person and choose what you’d like from our fresh flowers, which is a lot different than ordering from an 800 number or a .com where you don’t have the ‘personal’ touch!
In a world with so much technology, it must be nice to be able to meet your customers. And even nicer that they want to meet you. Keep up the good work.
Yes, Michelle! It doesn’t happen frequently enough that we get to meet our customers. But I find some of them actually make a point of coming in when they’re in town! I love the walk-in traffic. It’s so much more personalized than ordering flowers online from some 800 or.com place.
What beautiful flowers, there is nothing better than receiving a bouquet of flowers. They brighten up a room 🙂

Great post! Love the perspective into different people’s lives.
One wouldn’t think a florist would learn so much about their customers, but we do. Of course that wouldn’t be true if the people were ordering from a .com or 800 phone number, where they simply “talk” to a computer, but in our case, because we are real people, we have the pleasure to meet real people. I know birthdates and anniversaries. I know when babies are born and when grandparents die. I share in the lives of our customers through flowers.
It’s so nice that in your line of business you have the chance to meet people from different walks of life. That’s really interesting and they all come together for one thing, to show appreciate to another person who is special in their lives.
Yes, I love the fact that I get to meet people who order flowers. It’s so much more personal than ordering online and they seem to appreciate the extra care they get from us! Every occasion is a special occasion with flowers!
They each have their own stories to tell as to why they visited your shop and it’s always exciting to hear them! It must be nice to meet all these kind people and hear what they have to say.
Oh, my yes, Amanda. I love the stories people tell. Sometimes I speak with people once or twice a year. I hear about babies and children, and sometimes death. I feel like I am part of the family. Then, if we get to meet in person, it’s really special!

I think you’ll find Yelp very helpful if you’re searching for a business on the Internet. Companies can pay a lot of money to be listed at the top of search engines but Yelp really tries to be local and honest. And yes, meeting people is the best part of our business. Thanks so much!
